Skin. Ink. A steady hand.
Salt Marks
Philosophy.
Salt Marks begins long before the first dot touches the skin. With needles soldered by hand and ink I make myself using an old Japanese method. With a search for motifs that lead back to cave drawings, forms passed down through generations and the earliest traces of human expression.
At its heart is a longing for origins: for working with our own hands, for time, and for a personal connection to what remains.
The marks that emerge have no need to follow the spirit of the times. A sign of a path of your own, a memory, or a bond. Something worn on the skin, whose meaning does not depend on how others see it.
